The upcoming production from October 6-10 will be Madama Butterfly 《蝴蝶夫人》. Regarded as Puccini’s most melodious opera, the heart-wrenching love story will be performed by the most sought-after singers from Asia and Europe in a traditional setting. The production will turn the entire stage into Butterfly’s house in Nagasaki with scenes created by spectacular modern visual effect.

About Opera Hong Kong
Established in July 2003 as a non-profit making organization, Opera Hong Kong (OHK) is committed to the mission of enhancing the appreciation of the art of opera in Hong Kong and promoting local music talents. In addition to staging operas and concerts, educational programmes are also held regularly to reach the young population.
Opera Hong Kong Chorus and Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus were established in 2004 and 2008 respectively and are becoming recognized forces in the local choral scene. Riding on the success of the Jockey Club Opera Hong Kong Young Artist Development & Education Programme (the Programme) which kicked off in 2015, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has renewed the Programme with OHK for another 3 years. The Programme, accompanied by a series of outreach activities, provides intensive vocal training to 12 local young artists.
